Sigiriya
SIGIRIYA is ancient rock fotress locatoin lacatedain the northen matale district near the town of dambulla in the central province , sri lanka . It is a site of historical and aarchaeological significance that is dominate by a massive column of rock approximatly 180 giht.....
According to the ancient Sri Lanka chronic the culavemsa this area was large forest then after storms and landlines it become a a hill and was selected by king kashyapa for this new capital. He built his palace on to of the rock and decorated its sies with colouful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of tthis rock he built agatway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of the place is derived from this structure sinhagiri , the lion rock etymologa similar sinhapura , the sanskrit name of sisingapore the lioncity.
The capital and the royal place were abandoned after the king 's death. World heritage monstery untilthe 14th centure. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed world herihetitage site . It is one of thebest preserved exampales of ancient urban planning.
Because it is very atractive pavilion and it is our duty to present the national heritage...
